Two people have been taken to hospital after a three-car crash left one vehicle on its roof in Newcastle on Sunday afternoon.
The incident happened shortly before 4pm at the junction of Stamfordham Road and Silver Lonnen in the city's West End. Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service, Northumbria Police and the North East Ambulance Service all attended the scene.
Police have confirmed that the road has now been cleared and traffic should be returning to normal. NEAS said two casualties had been taken to the RVI for "further treatment".
Northumbria Police has confirmed the force was "dealing with a road traffic collision on the A191 Silver Lonnen which has now been resolved". They said two people had been taken to hospital with minor injuries.
A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called at 3.53pm this afternoon to reports of a road traffic collision on the junction of Silver Lonnen and Stamfordham Road in Newcastle. We dispatched two ambulance crews and two crews from our Hazardous Area Response Team (HART). Two people have been transported to the RVI for further treatment."
Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue confirmed they'd attended to make the scene and the vehicles safe.
