A major road just outside the city centre is closed this morning after two people were taken to hospital following a crash. The crash happened on the junction of Trinity Way and Blackfriars Road, Salford, just after 6am with police, fire, and ambulance crews rushing to the scene.
Two vehicles were involved in the crash, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said. Two people were taken from the scene to hospital with minor injuries.
A GMFRS spokesman said: "At 6:01am on Sunday 13 November 2022, two fire engines from Salford and Broughton attended an incident on Blackfriars Road, Salford. The road traffic collision involved two vehicles.

“Firefighters helped to make the scene safe and treated one casualty for minor injuries before they were taken to hospital by North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) for precautionary checks. A further casualty was taken to hospital by paramedics with minor injuries. Crews were detained one hour and thirty minutes."
The road has remained closed for three hours heading eastbound on the ring road.
