Two students tragically killed in Nottingham attack named as Barnaby Webber and Grace Kumar

The two students killed in a deadly series of attacks that took place across Nottingham in the early hours of Tuesday have been named.

Barnaby Webber and Grace Kumar, both 19, have been named as the University of Nottingham teenagers who tragically lost their lives after being knifed in a deadly rampage on Tuesday (June 13).

They lost their lives along with a man in his 50s after all three were attacked in Nottingham before a van, thought to have been stolen from the victim in his 50s, was then driven at a group of people, leaving one man in a critical condition.

On Tuesday afternoon, both teenage victims were confirmed as being students from the University of Nottingham.

Barnaby Webber was one of the victims of the fatal attack, who was known as a talented sportsman. In a short statement, Taunton-based Bishops Hull Cricket Club paid tribute to Mr Webber, who was one of its members, describing him as a 'dear friend' who 'made such an impact'.

Nottinghamshire Live have now named the second victim as 19-year-old Grace Kumar, who was understood to have been a hockey player in the first team.

Nottinghamshire Police said a 31-year-old man was tasered and arrested on suspicion of murder following the rampage and remains in custody. Chief Constable Kate Meynell added the force was not looking for anyone else in connection with the incidents and no further arrests had been made.

The police chief said the motive behind the attack was yet to be determined, but officers were keeping an 'open mind' and working with counter-terror police.
