It's often a common opinion that the people in Scotland are as friendly as they come - always up for a chat, willing to give directions and generally just being pleasant to those we meet.
But according to a new survey, it turns out that we might not be as warm and welcoming as we think we are.
Data from the online learning marketplace Preply conducted a survey amongst the 19 largest metropolitan places in the UK to find out what the rudest cities were - and two Scots destinations unfortunately made the list.
Glasgow and Edinburgh came fourth and fifth respectively on the list of 10 UK cities with the rudest population.
Some of these unpleasant habits that were most common during the experiment were people being absorbed by their phones, being noisy in public, and not acknowledging strangers.
More than 1,500 people took part in the survey, ranking the rudeness of the average resident in their city on a scale of one to 10.
Edinburgh in particular was notorious for people not looking or smiling at strangers, being the third most common city to display this kind of behaviour.
In more bad news, Edinburgh and Glasgow also placed pretty low on the 'most generous cities' list featuring more places - ranking in eighth and 16th place in terms of giving tips to servers.

Elsewhere on the list, Bristol came up tops for the rudest city overall, followed by Hull and Coventry, with London coming in sixth place.
Amy Pritchett, culture director of Preply, said: "For those who live or have lived in the UK, London not ranking first may be a surprise (in 6th). However, we also found that Sheffield, Derby, Bradford, and Manchester are the most polite.
"Along with reinforcing a reputation for good manners, this survey found that people jumping in queues was the least typical rude behaviour in the UK. Therefore, the nation’s love of forming an orderly line seems alive and well."
