Two rushed to hospital following serious crash on major Scots road

Two people have been rushed to hospital following a serious crash on a major Scots road.

The collision occurred westbound on the A90 at Invergowrie at around 1.05am on Monday, June 13.

A man and a woman have been transported to hospital. The nature of their injuries is currently unknown.

The road has been closed following the crash as has the southbound carriageway between the Swallow Roundabout and Longforgan.

Lane two northbound had also been shut originally but Traffic Scotland confirmed that it had re-opened in at 7.55am on their Twitter.

They wrote on their latest thread: "All lanes northbound have now fully re-opened into Dundee but traffic is still slow on approach."

Diversions have instead been made available via the A923 to Coupar Angus, or the A92 Tay Road Bridge.

Police confirmed that their enquiries to establish the full nature of the incident are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers are currently in attendance after a crash involving two vehicles which happened around 1.05am on Monday, 13 June, 2022.

“A man and a woman have been taken to hospital and enquiries are ongoing.

“The road is currently closed and diversions are in place."
