Two rescued as car crashes down slope and lands metres from harbour edge

A car crashed down the slipway of Burry Port Harbour dropping five metres in an incident which saw a huge response from the emergency services. It took place just after 9pm on Thursday, April 13, and saw two casualties stuck inside the vehicle, which could be seen with a learner plate on it.

Mid and West Wales Fire Service, which sent three crews to the scene, rescued them both using a seven-metre ladder, helping them out of the car and the mud in the harbour. They were then checked over by paramedics. Dyfed-Powys Police officers were also called to the scene along with the Coastguard.
