Two people have been taken to hospital after a crash on the M53 this morning.
The crash happened at around 8.51am on Monday, March 14, southbound on the motorway between junction four A5137 Brimstage Road (Bebington) to J5 A41 New Chester Road (Eastham). Traffic needed to use the hard shoulder to pass the scene.
Highways England confirmed that emergency services attended the scene to help with vehicle recovery and those involved in the crash. North West Ambulance service said that they treated five patients after the incident.

Two people were taken to hospital for the injuries they suffered in the crash. A spokesperson has confirmed the injuries are not believed to be serious and are being described as 'minor.'
There were delays of more than an hour at one point, while both lanes one and two were closed. Traffic stretched back more than four miles past junction four.
A spokesperson for North West Ambulance service told the ECHO: "We’ve responded to a road traffic collision following a call at 08.51. Five patients were assessed at the scene and two have been taken hospital with minor injuries."
All lanes are now reopen and recovery work has took place.
