Two people were taken to hospital after a collision on a County Durham road near the Ramside Hall Hotel.
The crash took place at around 5.20pm on Saturday evening, when emergency services were called to the area. The road was closed for several hours.
Durham police said the collision, involving two vehicles, occurred on the A690 near the junction at Pittington Lane and West Rainton. Drivers were advised to find an alternative route while the road was closed.

The North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) attended the scene and two patients were taken to hospital, one of them was flown to the Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI) in Newcastle by the Great North Air Ambulance Service.
A spokesperson for NEAS said: "We were called to reports of a road traffic collision on the junction of the A690 Pittington Road at 5.22pm this evening (Saturday). We dispatched two ambulance crews, one crew from our Hazardous Area Response Team and a clinical team leader, and requested support from Great North Air Ambulance Service.
"One patient was taken by road to Sunderland Royal Hospital and a second patient was flown to the RVI."
