Two people have been rushed to hospital and five more were checked by paramedics after a major crash on a busy east Manchester road. Emergency services rushed out to Hyde Road, in Gorton, at around 2.30pm this afternoon (June 5) after a smash near Debdale Park.
Police initially closed off the road in both directions following the collision involving a Volvo XC90 and a Nissan Qashqai, at the junction with Clumber Road. Images from the scene show both black cars suffered extensive damage to the front.
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) says seven passengers were involved in total, including two who had suffered minor injuries. Two more were taken to hospital by ambulance - the extent of their injuries has not been confirmed.
