Two people killed and 12 people shot while others hit by car during horror party

Police are investigating a tragic incident at a large 'illegal' street party, leaving a 19-year-old man and a 51-year-old woman dead.

The party ended in panic after gunshots were heard and several of the 200+ partgoers were injured as they fled the scene, in the early hours of Saturday, June 24 in Saginaw, Michigan, at the intersection of 4th and Johnson.

Fifteen people were badly injured, with three people being struck by vehicles and 12 others being hit by gunfire.

Michigan State Police said the party had over 200 attendees and shots were fired, leading to individuals being shot or struck by cars as they tried to flee in panic.

The investigation started early morning Saturday, June 24, at the intersection of 4th and Johnson (WNEM)

Law enforcement revealed the presence of multiple shooters and the recovery of bullets from five different calibers at the crime scene.

Currently, no suspects are in custody, and the investigation is ongoing.

Authorities assure the public that there is no immediate threat to their safety.

In a statement, Michigan State Police (MSP) Saginaw Major Case Unit (MCU) detectives said they are investigating the shooting.

An official said: "The party had been promoted on social media. Police agencies from throughout Saginaw County had dispersed the large crowd multiple times in different locations throughout the city prior to this incident.

"Police were nearby, preparing to disperse the crowd in this new location, when multiple 911 callers reported that people were shooting into the crowd at approximately 12:00 a.m. on June 24.

"Preliminary investigation indicates that a fight broke out between partygoers resulting in gunshots being fired. In response, others in the crowd began shooting into the crowd, striking several victims.

"As people fled the scene, many were injured after being struck by fleeing vehicles. Detectives later determined at least five different caliber weapons were used in the incident.

"As of this release, fifteen people were injured by gunshot or being struck by a vehicle. Two victims, a 19- year-old man and a 51-year-old woman, have died.

"All fifteen victims were transported to local hospitals for medical treatment. The medical status of the surviving victims is not currently available. There are no suspects in custody at this time. There is no ongoing threat to the public."

The Saginaw Police Department, Michigan State Police Detectives, Bridgeport Forensic Lab, and MSP aviation crews are all present at the scene, actively involved in the investigation.

Anyone with information related to the incident is urged to contact the Saginaw Major Crime Units.
