Two people have died after a tree fell on their car at the Sunshine Coast on Saturday.
Police say a 20-year-old woman and an 80-year-old woman were travelling on Old Gympie Road at the Glasshouse Mountains when their sedan was crushed by the falling tree after midday.
Firefighters helped to cut the two people from their car, but they died at the scene.
Their deaths bring the state's road toll to 298 this year.
It's the worst on record since 2009, when Queensland recorded 331 annual road deaths.
Ten people were taken to hospital following a separate crash at Buderim on the Sunshine Coast on Saturday afternoon.
Four people were cut from their vehicles after a six-car pile-up on Mooloolaba Road.
All were taken to hospital in stable conditions.
