TWO people were injured by a dog attack at a ferry terminal in Shetland.
Officers were called to reports of a dog having injured two people at Lerwick Ferry Terminal, at around 8:15 am on Thursday, August 1.
Police secured the animal with the help of a dog warden and a veterinarian.
The dog was put down shortly after the incident.
There were no reports of serious injuries from the attack.
Shetland News reported that the dog had travelled overnight on a NorthLink Ferry to Lerwick, and the incident happened after the animal had been handed over to its new owner.
Police Scotland’s Inspector Sam Greshon said: “Around 8.15am on Thursday, 31 August, 2024 we were called to a report of a dog having injured two people at Lerwick Ferry Terminal, Holmsgarth Road, Lerwick, Shetland.
“Officers, the dog warden and a veterinarian attended to secure the animal.
“It was euthanised a short time later.
“There were no reports of serious injuries.
“I would like to thank partner agencies for their support during this incident."
