Two people bailed over shooting of Olivia Pratt-Korbel in Liverpool

Two men who were arrested in connection with the murder of nine-year-old Olivia Pratt-Korbel have been bailed.

The men, aged 18 and 37 and both from the West Derby area, were arrested by Merseyside Police on suspicion of assisting an offender. The 18-year-old was arrested on Thursday, September 8, whilst the 37-year-old was arrested on Friday, September 9. Both were taken into custody and questioned by officers, before being released on bail.

Nine people have been arrested so far in connection with the murder of nine-year-old Olivia Pratt-Korbel, who was shot dead in her home at around 10pm on August 22 when a gunman chased another man into the house after her mother Cheryl opened the door to see what was going on outside after she heard gunshots.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "Two men arrested in connection with the murder of Olivia Pratt-Korbel on Monday, 22 August, have been released on police bail pending further inquiries. The men aged 18 years and 37 years, who both come from the West Derby area, were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. The investigation into Olivia’s murder is ongoing and we continue to appeal for people with information to come forward to assist us in bringing those responsible to justice."

Eight of the nine people arrested in connection with Olivia's murder have now been bailed. These include three men, a 36-year-old from Huyton and a 33-year-old arrested on August 25 on suspicion of murder and two counts of attempted murder, and a 34-year-old from Liverpool arrested on suspicion of the same charges on September 4.

Three other men, a 41-year-old from Knowsley and a 29-year-old both arrested on September 4, and a 34-year-old from Liverpool who were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender have also been bailed. The Manchester Evening News understands a 29-year-old man arrested on Thursday on suspicion of assisting an offender after police raided three properties in the West Derby area remains in custody.

Police are keen to see any CCTV, dashcam, or doorbell footage from the area that might be able to submit that footage to the public portal found here. Anyone with information has been urged to contact the police, either by DMing @MerPolCC on Twitter or by calling the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

The schoolgirl's funeral is set to take place at St Margaret Mary's Church in Dovecot on Thursday September 15, with her family asking mourners to wear a "splash of pink" for the service, which will be followed by a private burial.
