Two people arrested after £15k found stuffed between pair of 110s

Two people have been arrested after £15,000 in cash was found stuffed between a pair of 110s.

Merseyside Police spotted a drug transaction in Walton on Thursday, February 9, and arrested a 23-year-old woman. Officers then searched an address in Bootle.

During the search they recovered approximately £15,000 in cash, and two stolen off-road bikes. A 24 year-old-man at the address was also detained.

The pair were arrested for drug supply, handling stolen goods, and money laundering. The pair remain in custody awaiting questioning.

A post on the Sefton Police Facebook page said: "Operation Pelican Officers have last night arrested a 23-year-old female and a 24-year-old male from the Bootle area for Drug Supply, Handling Stolen Goods, and Money Laundering. Officers sighted a drug transaction in the Walton area and detained the female involved. Officers have arrested the female and carried out a search at an address in Bootle.

"During their search, officers have recovered approximately £15,000 in cash, and two outstanding stolen motor vehicles. A male located in the address was then arrested. Both remain in custody awaiting questioning."
