ACT Health has reported two new deaths in people with COVID-19, after a man in his 80s and a woman who was aged over 100 died with the virus.
One of the deaths occurred in the latest reporting period and another occurred in February.
There have been 41 COVID-19 deaths in the ACT since the pandemic started.
The ACT reported 1194 cases in the latest reporting period, this was up from 1139 on the previous day.
Hospitalisations remain steady with 47 people in Canberra hospitals in the 24 hours to 8pm on Wednesday. There are three people in intensive care and one is being ventilated.
The age breakdown of new cases is:
- 0-4: 55 (5%)
- 5-11: 105 (9%)
- 12-17: 96 (8%)
- 18-24: 134 (11%)
- 25-39: 380 (32%)
- 40-49: 224 (19%)
- 50-64: 134 (11%)
- 65+: 66 (6%)
Of the new cases in the ACT, 630 were detected by a PCR test and 564 were detected by a rapid antigen test.
There have been a total of 77,714 cases in the ACT since the pandemic started.

There were 17 deaths of COVID patients in NSW in the latest reporting period. There are 1326 COVID patients in NSW hospitals and 39 people are in intensive care.
In the 24 hours to 4pm on Wednesday, NSW reported 22,107 new COVID cases.
The vast majority - 13,309 - were discovered using a rapid antigen test.
There were 11,292 new COVID cases reported in Victoria and four deaths with COVID-19.
There are 312 people in Victorian hospitals with COVID-19. There are 14 people in intensive care and four people are being ventilated.
