Two missing women found alive in their Jeep after getting stuck in snow for FIVE days

Two women have been found alive and well after being stranded in the snow for four days.

Kimberly Pushard, 51, and Angela Bussell, 50, from Midcoast, got stuck with their car in a remote area near Nicatous Lake in Hancock County, Maine.

The pair, who have intellectual disabilities, went missing last Tuesday after accidentally driving to Massachusetts instead of the Maine Mall, where they planned to go for bowling.

After receiving directions from family members and police officers, their cell phones died, and they repeatedly got lost.

Ms Pushard's sister filed a missing persons report with Topsham police on Wednesday.

Investigators focused on the area where Pushard's cellphone last pinged, but it was later discovered that the women were more than 300 miles away.

On Saturday morning, their car ran out of gas, and they were left without heat in extremely cold temperatures.

Finally, Game Warden Brad Richard found them by chance on a snowmobile trail he wasn't assigned to search, and the pair was rescued on Sunday afternoon.

He wasn't originally planning on going near where the women were found and called it dumb luck that he did.

Mr Richard told the Press Herald: "Those things don’t always happen by chance. I think kind of was meant to be."

They were both taken to a hospital, where Ms Bussell was treated for frostbite and released the same day.

Ms Pushard had some bruises and muscle pulls and remained in the hospital during the night.

Topsham Police Department posted a picture of the two women appearing happy and smiling on Facebook.

Police announced that the search for them has been successfully concluded and thanked all the agencies and individuals who helped in the search efforts.

Ms Pushard's mother, Patsy Pushard, said how thankful she is that her daughter is coming home Sunday night.

She told CBS 13 : "Oh gosh, you don’t know how I feel tonight. I just feel so relaxed and my baby girl is coming home. We’re going to hug and kiss her.

"God told me that they were going to be found this afternoon, safe and sound, and look what happened."
