Tragedy struck in Washington state as the search for two missing hikers turned into a recovery effort after the men fell into Eagle Falls and did not resurface. The Snohomish County Sheriff's Office announced that search and rescue teams, along with divers, are continuing their efforts to locate the missing individuals.

Following the incident on Saturday, the Sheriff's Office confirmed on social media that the operation had transitioned into a recovery mission. By Sunday afternoon, two male bodies were recovered from the falls, although their identities have yet to be confirmed pending examination by the Medical Examiner's Office.

The initial call reporting the incident came in around 4:15 p.m. on Saturday, indicating that two men had fallen into the falls and disappeared. Despite extensive search efforts by rescue teams, the hikers could not be located.

According to reports, the two missing hikers were part of a group of four individuals at the time of the accident. The swift currents and cold water temperatures in Snohomish County rivers have posed challenges for search and rescue operations, prompting authorities to caution the public against entering the water and approaching the falls.

As the investigation continues, the identities of the missing hikers have not been disclosed. The community remains in mourning as the recovery effort unfolds in the wake of this tragic incident.
