Two men have been rused to hospital after a man was seen "covered in blood" on a busy road in Glasgow. A 999 response was scrambled to Argyle Street in Finnieston last night after reports of a street attack.
Medics attended shortly before 8pm and found two men, aged 21 and 22, injured. They were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment, where their current condition is unknown.
Images from the scene show multiple police vans at the scene in Finnieston - which was recently named Scotland's "coolest" neighbourhood - with a stretch of road cordoned off on the corner of Argyle Street and Berkeley Street.
An eyewitness told how he saw one man "covered in blood" on the street. They added: "He was able to walk but you could see an amount of blood on him. The police went on to search up and down the road with torches."
Cops launched a probe into the attack and enquiries into the incident remain ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.55pm on Sunday, December 18, officers were called to a report of a serious assault on Argyle Street, Glasgow.
"Emergency services attended and two men, aged 21 and 22 were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. Enquiries are ongoing.”
