Police say they have found the body of a third man in the south-west Victorian town of Kirkstall, near Warrnambool, after two men were found fatally wounded earlier today.
Emergency crews were called to Kirkstall-Koroit Road about 10:20am and found the two men with fatal injuries.
Both men died at the scene.
All access to the site was restricted by police, with blocks in place on Killarney-Koroit Road and Scotts North Road.
Police said the third man was found dead a short time later at a Chamberlain Street address.
"The exact circumstances surrounding the deaths are yet to be determined at this stage, however detectives are not looking for anyone else in connection with the matter," police said in a statement, adding it was believed the men were known to each other.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
Ian Williams has lived in the neighbourhood for 30 years, and said he lived next to one of the deceased for 15 of those.
He described the morning's events as a "shock" and said the seriousness of what had happened had not yet "sunk in".
He said Kirkstall was a small community where everyone knew each other, but it had changed over time.
"Over the last 10 years it's gone from having a population of a few 10s, to probably a hundred to two hundred people," Mr Williams said.
