Two people have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was shot in the arm.
Merseyside Police have announced they arrested two men, aged 22 and 23, on suspicion of attempted murder after an incident on Newark Close, Noctorum, Wirral, on December 18. Police were called at around 9.15pm following reports of gunshots on the road.
A short time later a man arrived at hospital with an injury to his arm. He has since been discharged from hospital.

The two men arrested remain in custody where they are being questioned by detectives.
Detective Inspector John Mullen said: “Our work to remove firearms and those who choose to use them remains ongoing.
“I would continue to appeal for anyone with information about this incident, or with knowledge of who is carrying weapons or where they are being stored to contact us.”
