Two men arrested after woman, 60s, threatened during aggravated burglary in Mayfield, Cork

Two men have been arrested after a woman in her 60s was threatened during an aggravated burglary in Cork.

The incident happened just before 8pm on Bank Holiday Monday, June 1, in Mayfield.

Two men armed with weapons entered the woman's house and threatened her.

Gardaí arrested both men a short time later and they were taken to Mayfield Garda Station where they are currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

The woman was not injured in the incident.

Investigations are ongoing.
