Two men have been arrested after a shotgun and ammunition were discovered in a rucksack in Finglas overnight.
At around 12:10am this morning, Gardai observed a male on Glasnevin Avenue dropping a rucksack. After searching the rucksack, officers discovered a sawn off shotgun and ammunition.
Two men, one aged in his 20s and the other in his 30s have been arrested in connection with the incident under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939. They are both detained at Finglas garda station and can be held for up to seven days.

A garda spokesman said: "All of the seized items will now be sent to the Garda Technical Bureau for further examination. Investigations are ongoing."
