Two men have appeared in court charged with a number of offences after armed police swooped on a holiday park caravan in East Lothian.
Officers locked down an area of Thurston Manor Leisure Park, near Dunbar, at around 8am on Thursday, July 6, as part of an ongoing operation.
Shocked holidaymakers told how they saw more than 20 police vehicles in attendance along with five armed response units and paramedics.
Three men were arrested a short time later after an alleged ‘disturbance’ broke out.
Daniel Wilson, 26, and Andrew Miller, 23, have now appeared in private at Edinburgh Sheriff Court.
Wilson was charged with assault, an offence under the Criminal Justice and Licensing (Scotland) Act 2010 and an offence under the Criminal Procedure (Scotland) Act 1995.
Miller was charged with two counts of assault, two offences under the Criminal Justice and Licensing (Scotland) Act 2010 and an offence under the Criminal Procedure (Scotland) Act 1995.
He was also charged with 11 counts of theft by housebreaking, five road traffic offences and culpable and reckless conduct to danger of life.
A third man has been released pending further enquiries.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.55am on Thursday, 6 July, officers attended at a holiday home park at Innerwick, near Dunbar, as part of an ongoing operation.
“Three men, aged 19, 23 and 26, have been arrested and charged following the operation. “They are due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Friday, 7 July 2023. A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
