Two Marc Roca alternatives Leeds United could target ahead of proposed summer move

Leeds United look set to part ways with a number of first-teamers following the club's relegation to the Championship and Marc Roca is one of those to have been touted for a move elsewhere. The Spaniard is set to join Real Betis on a loan, if recent reports are to be believed, with the 26-year-old keen on a return to his native country.

Roca arrived from Bayern Munich last summer and was an ever present for Leeds throughout the course of the campaign, but he was one of many who flattered to deceive. The Whites are set for a huge summer rebuild once the 49ers Enterprises completes their takeover at Elland Road.

A new manager, a decision on a sporting director and the futures of a number of players will need to be decided before any signings are given the green light.

Macro Football has Roca down as one of the biggest under performers in the Premier League season and a move away from Yorkshire should come as no surprise. However, if Leeds are to play with a deep-lying playmaker next season, they'll have a void to fill.

Using the aforementioned statistical website, there are two players Leeds United could target to kick start their rebuild. Cremonese midfielder Michele Castagnetti has a 97.8 per cent similarity to Roca.

The 33-year-old midfielder played 27 times for the Serie A strugglers last season, but poses similar statistical data to that of Roca. His age may put the Whites off signing him as a direct replacement, given his best years look to be behind him.

Olympiacos midfielder Pierre Kunde boasts a 94.7 per cent similarity to Roca and could well be available this summer. The 27-year-old Cameroonian midfielder impressed during his stint with Mainz 05 in the Bundesliga, which paved the way for his move to Greece.

However, he spent last season on loan with Bundesliga side VfL Bochum, scoring once in 12 appearances for the relegation battlers. They finished 14th to ensure their stay in the top flight of German football and Kunde is set for a return to Greece this summer.
