Early Sunday morning, a tragic shooting incident in Washington, DC resulted in the deaths of two individuals and injuries to five others. The shooting occurred around 3 a.m. near the intersection of 7th and P Street Northwest, close to the Kennedy Recreation Center, as reported by the Metropolitan Police Department.

The deceased victims were identified as 32-year-old Anthony Brown from Washington, DC, and 32-year-old Jay Lucks from Baltimore. The injured individuals, all adults, were promptly transported to local hospitals for treatment, although their current conditions remain undisclosed.

Authorities have not yet determined the perpetrator or the circumstances leading to the shooting, which unfolded just blocks away from the White House. No arrests have been made, and suspects have not been named in connection with the case.

The motive behind the shooting is still under investigation. Initial findings suggest that one or more suspects deliberately fired at the victims. In response to the incident, the Metropolitan Police Department has announced a $50,000 reward for any information that aids in the arrest and conviction of those responsible.

Metropolitan Police Executive Assistant Chief Jeffrey Carroll urged the public to come forward with any relevant information or eyewitness accounts related to the shooting. Anyone with details is encouraged to reach out to the authorities to assist in the ongoing investigation.
