Two kids have escaped from a car that entered the River Lee in Cork city on Friday evening with a third person believed to still be missing.
Gardai, the coast guard helicopter, fire brigades and ambulances remain at Kennedy Quay after the incident at 8:45pm this evening.
Gardai confirmed two children escaped the vehicle and are being treated for non-life threatening injuries in Cork University Hospital.
A search operation remains ongoing for a third occupant tonight.
A garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí are investigating all the circumstances of an incident where a vehicle entered the River Lee at Kennedy Quay, Cork City, at approximately 8:45pm on Friday, 3rd June, 2022.
"Two children were recovered from the water and are currently receiving treatment at Cork University Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
"An Garda Síochána remain at the scene and are awaiting support from specialist services to conduct further examinations of the vehicle.
"No further information is available at this time."
