Brazilian wonderkid Endrick has snubbed a move to Chelsea in favour Real Madrid, and the reasons why have been revealed.
As reported by Standard Sport last week, the 16-year-old has accepted a deal worth around £62million to join the Spanish giants in the summer of 2024, when he turns 18.
It is a blow to Chelsea's future plans, who had Endrick's family at their Cobham training ground base and even went as far as including Brazil captain Thiago Silva in negotiations only to still fail to convince the youngster.
The Athletic report that Endrick & Co. were impressed by Chelsea's efforts, but were put off by a perceived hesitance from the club over the financials involved. The majority of the deal hinged on how Endrick performed.
Another aspect The Athletic claim may have worked against Chelsea was the ongoing restructuring of their recruitment operation under the guidance of Todd Boehly and the new ownership as a whole.
