Police have issued a warning after two inmates escaped from Leyhill Prison last night.
Shawn Dibble, 44, and 37-year-old Carl Perry are on the run after absconding from the Category D men's jail near Wotton-under-Edge, Gloucestershire, said police.
Dibble is serving a life sentence for "burglaries/thefts/robberies" and has links to Bristol. He is described as 5ft 9ins with a medium build, brown hair and blue eyes.
Perry, who is serving a sentence for robberies, is also described as 5ft 9ins with a slim build, short brown hair at the sides and brown eyes. He has tattoos on both arms and a missing upper front tooth.
The inmate is known to frequent the Midlands area, added police.
The public are being advised not to approach the pair, but to call 999 immediately giving the log number 5222138847.
Avon and Somerset Police said in a statement: "Officers are trying to locate two wanted men who absconded from HMP Leyhill in South Gloucestershire on Sunday evening.
"If you see Shawn Dibble or Carl Perry, don't approach them, but call 999."
