Two people have been injured when a charter plane crashed in Western Australia's remote north.
The Beechcraft Baron had been chartered for a flight to Kununurra with a pilot and a single passenger on board, the Australian Transport Safety Bureau says.
A fisherman reported what he believed to be a crash landing between the Ord River and East Kimberley Regional Airport at Kununurra shortly after 8.30am on Saturday.
Police say they received information the aircraft was on fire.
However, officers and ambulance personnel were able to quickly confirm that the pilot and passenger had survived.
The pair were treated at the scene, with plans to take them by helicopter to the airport and then by ambulance to Kununurra Hospital.
ATSB investigators are on their way to the crash site and will examine the wreckage to determine the cause of the crash.
It will also review flight data, maintenance and pilot records.
"The ATSB asks anyone who may have seen the aircraft in any phase of its flight, or who may have footage of any kind, to make contact," it said.
A preliminary report on the crash is expected within eight weeks.
