Two people have been left with potentially life-changing injuries after an attack involving a baseball bat and machete in Bristol.
Police were called to Chapel Road, Bishopsworth, just after midnight on Saturday (May 21) after a Ford Transit van and another vehicle collided. Four men proceeded to exit the van and began striking the car with baseball bats and machetes.
Two people were injured during the assault and were taken to hospital to receive treatment. They have since been discharged, but police say they have both been left with possible life-changing injuries. One victim also had a gold necklace and mobile phone stolen during the assault, but the phone has since been recovered.

In a statement, Avon and Somerset Police said: "We are appealing for the public’s help for information after two people were seriously injured in an assault and robbery."
The force has offered a description: "The offender[s] were described as being between 18 and 40 years of age, wore dark clothing with black balaclavas and spoke with West Country accents.
"The vehicle involved was a white Ford Transit van with a black and white pattern on the front and side panels."
Police have appealed to the public for help in their enquiries. "If you saw the incident, were driving in the area that night and saw anything suspicious, or have any information which could aid the investigation, please call contact us", they added.
