Two injured following early morning knife incident in Motherwell

Police are investigating a disturbance after two people were injured in a knife attack in Motherwell last Friday.

Officers are looking into reports of a disturbance on Maryknowe Road, in the Carfin area, around 4am on February 4.

Lanarkshire Live understands a group of people had been at an address socialising when things escalated into a disturbance.

That subsequently spilled out into the street with a female reported to have been in possession of a knife.

A 23-year-old woman and a 17-year-old man sustained superficial injuries as a result of the incident and no medical treatment was required.

Elsewhere, police are seeking the public’s help after a group of teenagers were spotted throwing objects at buses in two Newmains streets.

Officers are looking into reports of youths throwing stones at buses and homes at Westwood Road and Eastwood Drive on February 7.

And finally, police are investigating reports of youths on Merry Street in Motherwell damaging the key safes at the front doors of homes on February 7.

Anyone with any information in relation to any of the incidents above is asked to contact police on 101.
