Two people have been hospitalised following a crash in Ayr.
Two motors were involved in the smash on the A77 northbound between the Holmston and Whitletts roundabouts.
Police shut down the road at 5.45pm on Friday and it was reopened after two-and-a-half-hours.
Officials have confirmed today that two casualties were rushed to hospital shortly after the crash.
The extent of the injuries sustained by those involved has not been disclosed.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: " Police were called around 5.45pm on Friday, 22 July, 2022 following the report of a two vehicle road crash on the A77 northbound between the Holmston and Whitletts roundabouts, Ayr.
"Emergency services attended the scene and two people were taken to hospital.
"The road was closed for around two and a half hours."
