Two soldiers, one career and one in required service, were indicted on Thursday afternoon by the IDF Prosecution for taking weapons from the army and arms trafficking.
The investigation by the Central Unit for Special Investigations (CUSI) revealed that two M-16s, two AK-47s, 48 ammunition barrels and three stun grenades were stolen by the career soldier. He sold the weapons with the help of the second soldier to a civilian who is currently under an investigation conducted by the Israeli Police.
CUSI Commander, Lt.-Col. Arik Bortnicker said, "Complex investigative actions to thwart weapons violations in the IDF proved to be effective and successful in this case. The Investigative Military Police will continue to act in order to discover the truth."
