A man has been arrested after a "dangerous driving incident" that saw a garda car hit and two officers brought hospital.
The incident happened after gardai in Dundalk spotted a vehicle "driving erratically" on Park Street, which then failed to stop when requested to do so.
Officers launched a "managed containment operation" which concluded shortly before 4.30am at the Redcow roundabout in Dundalk.
Gardai said the car collided with an official garda vehicle, and two members of the force were brought to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda for treatment.
A man and two women who were passengers in the offending vehicle, all aged in their 20s, were also brought to the hospital as a precaution.
And a man in his 20s was arrested in connection with the incident.
He was brought to Dundalk Garda Station where he remains in custody.
Officers are now appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time, or who has any information about the incident, to come forward.
A garda spokesman said: "Gardaí have arrested a man in relation to an incident of dangerous driving which occurred In Dundalk this morning, Sunday 6th February 2022.
"Gardaí are appealing to any member of the public who may have witnessed this incident to come forward. Gardaí are also appealing to anyone who was travelling in the Park Street, Demesne and Redcow Roundabout areas of Dundalk at this time, who may have camera (dash cam) footage to make this available to investigating Gardaí.
"Anyone with any information in relation to this incident should contact Dundalk Garda Station on 042 9388 400, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
"Investigations are ongoing."
