Two gardaí required medical attention after their patrol car was rammed in a violent incident in Mullingar, Co Westmeath.

The incident happened after gardaí responded to a domestic disturbance at a house in the Dalton Park area of the town last Friday morning, October 7.

Gardaí attempted to arrest a man at the residence but say they were "violently resisted." The man then managed to make his way out of the house and away from the officers.
