Two people have been airlifted to a Cardiff hospital after a serious three-vehicle crash in west Wales. The collision happened on Tuesday afternoon on the A4066 near the village of Llanmiloe in Carmarthenshire.
Emergency services were called to the scene - between Laugharne and Pendine - shortly after 12.30pm and the road was shut in both directions by police. Officers from Dyfed-Powys Police were still in attendance late on Tuesday afternoon, with a spokeswoman for the force confirming that the road reopened shortly before 5pm - almost four and a half hours after the crash.
The ambulance service has confirmed that paramedics attended the incident with support from the Wales Air Ambulance, and that two people have been airlifted to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff. The severity of their injuries is not known at this stage.
