Two Dublin pubs given title of 'Ireland's best Guinness' by famous pint Guru

Two Dublin pubs have been crowned "Ireland's best Guinness" by the famous Guinness Guru Daragh Curran.

Bowes Pub on Fleet Street and Gravediggers in Glasnevin have been named as having the best Guinness by pintman Daragh Curran who travels across Ireland to find the most perfect pint of the black stuff.

A Galway pub has also joined the ranks after a pint he had in Taaffes pub left him speechless, Galway Beo reports.

He said that his way of knowing if a pint of Guinness is good is if it shuts him up and the Shop Street pub's glass of cream left him "rattled and shut me up".

Sharing his silenced experience on Instagram the Guru said: “I’m absolutely shell shocked I’m rattled. You know a pint is good when it shuts me up and that shut me up."

Summarising his trip to Galway city, the Guru revealed that Taaffes came out on top in a day of quality pints before heading back home, content with a belly full of pints.

“With big cities it’s impossible to get to everywhere, but I think I got in a good shift on the day. Taaffes came out on top with Tigh Neachtain a close second."

Unofficial Guinness Reviewers added after a recent trip to Ireland: "I'll hope to be back home for a week this coming May. Put in the request for the time off work and will be booking flights soon, fingers crossed.

"I'm going to do a personal review of Gartlan's in Kingscourt. My personal favourite closest to my home house. Then, I'm going to try the top three according to The Guinness Guru. Just for my own personal experience. At least two if not three pints if I can at Taaffes pub, Bowes Pub (Fleet Street, Dublin) and Gravediggers (Glasnevin, Dublin)."

They added: "The excitement will be like Christmas morning and I absolutely cannot wait to try these top three pubs according to Guinness Guru out."
