Two Door Cinema Club & Declan McKenna Team Up For Huge Aussie Tour This December

Happy Friday! The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, the weekend is nigh, and we FINALLY have good shit to look forward to ‘cos Two Door Cinema Club and Declan McKenna have just announced a joint Australian tour.

To make things even better, you won’t have to wait ’til 2025 like seemingly everyone else ‘cos this tour is happening THIS YEAR (I repeat, this year!), with Two Door Cinema Club and McKenna hitting shows and venues all across the country throughout December.

!!!!!

While both acts have made the jaunt on their respective Aussie tours — with TDCC last visiting in 2019 and McKenna stopping by earlier this year — the upcoming dates mark the musicians’ first-ever co-headlining tour.

The joint run is welcome news for music fans like me, who prefer to dance through their heartbreak with the kind of upbeat tunes you’d hear on the soundtrack of Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging.

TDCC and McKenna will be joined on their seven-date Australian tour by alt-pop five piece Soft Launch, rounding out a musical trio that has my inner indie girl positively squealing.

And I’ll get to squeal pretty confidently too, since the tour will feature a setlist of tracks that spans both their chart-topping hits (like McKenna’s viral TikTok sensation “Brazil”) and their newer material (like TDCC’s “Happy Customers”).

Also expect songs lifted from McKenna’s 2024 album What Happened to the Beach?, and whatever performance chops he picks up while opening for Sabrina Carpenter

TDCC and McKenna will first perform at Perth’s Ice Cream Factory on December 4, with another date booked for the Sydney Opera House Forecourt on December 6. From there, they’ll hit Melbourne’s Margaret Court Arena on December 8, and University of Wollongong Gardens on December 10.

The Station in Sunshine Coast will then host the tour on December 12, before the musicians steal the spotlight at Brisbane’s Riverstage the following night (December 13). TDDC and McKenna will cap off the expansive Australian tour with a final show at Bar On The Hill in Newcastle on December 14.

While the ticket-buying experience is often bloodthirsty enough to send a shudder down my spine, I’ll nonetheless be first in line when presale tickets for the joint tour go live on Tuesday, September 24 at 10am AEST. Find Live Nation presale tickets here, and Secret Sounds Presale tickets here

For those who miss out, general public tickets for all shows will be available on Wednesday, September 25 from 11am AEST here.

In the meantime, I’m off to revel in the indie music-induced feeling that I’m simply a girl in an eighties teen movie.
