KANNUR
Two persons died when a house under construction collapsed at Pallipoyil in Chembilode, here on Tuesday. The deceased were identified as Munthani Krishnan, 63, owner of the house, and Lalu, 39, a construction worker from Kottali Colony in Kannadiparambu. The accident happened at 2 p.m. when the beam collapsed while construction was going on on the first floor of the house. Though Mr. Krishnan was rushed to a nearby hospital, he died of his injuries. An earthmover was required to take out Lalu, who was stuck under the beam. The bodies were shifted to the Kannur General Hospital.
