Two deaths, 425 COVID infections reported in Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh reported two more deaths due to COVID-19 and 425 infections in the 24 hours ending Saturday morning.  The number of active cases came down to 7,358, as 1,486 patients recovered in the past day. The cumulative toll and tally increased to 14,710 and 23,15,950 respectively.  The recovery rate increased to 99.05% with a total of 22,93,882 recoveries. The daily test positivity rate of the 19,769 samples tested in the past day was 2.15% and that of the 3.29 crore samples tested so far was 7.03%.  Chittoor and Krishna reported one death each in the past day. West Godavari reported 113 fresh cases in the past day. It was followed by East Godavari (72), Krishna (55), Visakhapatnam (36), Guntur (34), Prakasam (34), Chittoor (24), Anantapur (20), Kadapa (12), Vizianagaram (12), Nellore (11), Kurnool (1) and Srikakulam (1). 

Nearly half of the State’s active cases, that is 3,318 (45%) are in East Godavari district. Krishna has 1,182 active cases while West Godavari has 811 active cases. They are followed by Guntur (560), Prakasam (457), Chittoor (279), Nellore (175), Anantapur (128), Kadapa (127), Vizianagaram (94), Visakhapatnam (84), Kurnool (75) and Srikakulam (68).    The district tallies were as follows: East Godavari (3,15,975), Chittoor (2,72,162), Guntur (2,02,808), West Godavari (1,92,858), Visakhapatnam (1,90,637), Anantapur (1,77,037), Nellore (1,64,212), Prakasam (1,55,712), Kurnool (1,44,209), Krishna (1,36,565), Kadapa (1,34,764), Srikakulam (1,33,911) and Vizianagaram (92,205).
