Two Scottish cities have been named among the best in the UK for cost of living.
According to the research, both Glasgow and Edinburgh offer not only good salary prospects, but also low living costs on average.
Scotland's biggest city was named second on the list and was just narrowly beaten out for the top spot by Oxford, while the capital came 9th in the top 10 which looked at basic costs such as transport, utilities and rent, and measured them against average salaries.
The team at money experts Budget Direct, who carried out the study, said: "Have you ever wondered what the cost of living is across the UK?
"We looked to find out what the average cost of living is across different cities in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
"Oxford performs well, alongside Glasgow and Reading. All these cities offer good salary prospects and low living costs on average."
Surprisingly, London was not the worst city for the cost of living, in fact, Wolverhampton was named in the top spot for that list, while Norwich and Swansea in Wales, were also picked out as some of the most expensive places to live.
Interestingly, no Scottish cities were named in the worst cost of living top 10.
