Two churches in one part of Merseyside stand out from others in the area.
Sefton is home to two of Merseyside's 40 Grade 1 listed buildings, with both of them being churches that stand out from the rest.
The two buildings, Church of St Helen in Sefton village and Church of St Monica in Bootle, are both extraordinary buildings that stand out from other churches in the borough.

Church of St Helen is believed to have been built in the early 14th Century making it one of the oldest Grade 1 listed buildings in the county.
Merseyside as a whole is home to a number of Grade 1 listed buildings, with Liverpool and Wirral boasting a high number of those.
The county is home to an impressive 40 Grade 1 listed buildings, with the UK having more than 9,000.
Knowsley and St Helens are home to just one each.
Albert Dock alone has an eighth of the Grade 1 listed buildings in the county, with the Traffic Office and a number of warehouses being listed.
