TIRUVANNAMALAI: A head-on collision between a car and a truck resulted in the loss of eight lives in Tamil Nadu's Tiruvannamalai on Sunday, said local police.
While the precise cause of the accident is under investigation, it took the lives of four men, one woman, and two children on the spot.
The incident unfolded on the Tiruvannamalai-Bengaluru highway, where the occupants of the car were returning to Bengaluru after a visit to a temple in Tamil Nadu.
Another woman involved in the collision was rushed to a government hospital but, unfortunately, succumbed to her injuries, bringing the total death toll to eight.
