The filing deadline for Maine’s Democratic presidential primary passed on Dec. 1, 2023. Two candidates qualified for the March 5, 2024, ballot. In order to file, candidates had to submit a petition with 2,000 signatures.
The following candidates qualified:
- President Joe Biden
- U.S. Rep. Dean Phillips
Biden, Phillips, and Marianne Williamson have filed to participate in five or more nominating contests. See the chart below for an overview of the number of candidates who have filed in each Democratic presidential primary contest.
The next Democratic presidential primary filing deadline will take place on Dec. 5, 2023, in Tennessee.
