An urgent hunt is underway for two British nationals have gone missing in Ukraine, Ukrainian police have confirmed.
The men have been named by police in Ukraine as Andrew Bagshaw, 48, and 28-year-old Christopher Parry.
They were reportedly last seen on Friday when they were heading towards the town of Soledar, which has been the site of intense fighting in recent days.
They are understood to have been in Ukraine to help with humanitarian relief efforts.
A post on Ukraine’s National Police’s website names the missing men as Andrew Bagshaw and Christopher Perry.
It says: “On January 7, around 5.15 pm, the duty unit of the Bakhmut district police department received a report of the disappearance of two volunteers - citizens of Great Britain, aged 28 and 48.
“It is known that the day before, January 6, at 8am, the men left Kramatorsk for Soledar, and contact with them was lost.”
Officers in the Donetsk region are carrying out an investigation in a bid to find the men.
“If you have seen the missing citizens or have any information about them, please inform the police,” the police statement added.
A spokesperson for the British Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office told the Standard: “We are supporting the families of two British men who have gone missing in Ukraine.”
