Mother Arrested After Two Boys, Aged 9 And 11, Found Dead In Blue Mountains Home

A police investigation is underway after two young boys were found dead in a home in the Blue Mountains. NSW Police have established a crime scene at the home in Faulconbridge, and made one arrest.

The two children, aged nine and 11-years-old, were found deceased at midday on Tuesday by their father, according to 9News.

Officers from the Blue Mountains Police Area Command responded to a welfare call at 12:40pm today, and arrived at the home to find the bodies of the two boys.

The boys’ 42-year-old mother has been taken to Westmead Hospital under police guard. She is in stable condition, and has since been arrested.

The ABC reported that police sources said the two children had stab wounds, and the woman had self-inflicted stab wounds. No weapon has been identified yet.

“There is no ongoing threat to the community. Police are not looking for anyone else,” read a statement from NSW Police.

According to reports from the Sydney Morning Herald, there was no history of domestic violence, and nobody else lived at the home.

In a statement to media, Superintendent John Nelson said the woman was known to police.

“What I can say about the mother is that she is known to us, but only for minor matters,” he said.

NSW Police are now investigating the circumstances of the deaths, with the help of detectives from the homicide investigation squad.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers online here, or call 1800 333 000.
