The bodies of a man and woman have been found inside a unit at an Adelaide retirement village, with police treating their deaths as a murder-suicide.

Police converged on the group of units at Glynde on Wednesday morning after being contacted by staff.

Superintendent Matt Nairn said it was believed the man had killed his wife and then taken his own life.

Both were aged 92.

Supt Nairn said a full investigation would be conducted but there was nothing untoward known with respect to the couple's relationship.

He said the couple's children had been notified of their deaths.

"As you can imagine, this is very tragic for a family," Supt Nairn said.

Detectives will prepare a report for the state coroner.
