Two men have been arrested after police witnessed a drug deal in action while patrolling the streets of Trafford. Plain clothes officers were in the Quadrant area of Kings Road last night (June 6) when they witnessed the exchange take place between a group on foot and other people in a vehicle.
Greater Manchester Police says that as officers approached the vehicle, the occupants tried to make off, but they were stopped and detained. Police searched the vehicle and found numerous snap bags of cannabis worth around £500, 10 snap bags of cocaine and £600 in cash.
A large metal spanner was also found in the driver-side door. Two men, aged 19 and 23, were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A and class B drugs and possession of an offensive weapon.

Officers went on to search the 19-year-old's home address, where they found two flick knives and one replica BB gun, which was hidden in the bedroom along with more class A drugs believed to be cocaine. The drugs and weapons have been seized.
The 19-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon in a private place following the search at his home. It comes as GMP has been carrying out extra patrols in Trafford.
Officers also conducted four adult stop searches, three weapons seizures, two partnership referrals and one weapons sweep. A male on an electric bike was also detained following a short foot chase, with the bike seized and the rider reported for driving offences.
Sergeant Mohammed Waqas, of GMP’s Operation Venture team, hopes the force's work in the area will 'provide reassurance to members of the community'. He added: "A mixture of high visibility and plain clothes tactics were utilised in and around key locations.
"We’ve successfully seized and removed several weapons and a large quantity of drugs from the streets using our stop and search powers. This was a successful night of intelligence-led proactive police work to reassure our communities."
