Police are looking for a person after a car was shot at in Melbourne's north-west, resulting in two arrests.
Police said there was an altercation between three people near a McDonald's on St Albans road at 8:45am.
A shot was fired which hit the back of a blue Holden Commodore.
Some workers at the McDonald's told the ABC they heard a shot fired in the distance.
A 20-year-old male and 21-year-old female involved in the dispute fled in the Commodore and headed towards Sunshine Hospital, where the car crashed into a marked police vehicle.
The two then fled the car and headed in different directions.
The female was arrested inside the hospital and the male was arrested about a block away.
The male has been charged with reckless conduct endangering life, while the woman has been released pending further enquiries.
Acting Senior Sergeant Ben McGibbon said Sunshine Hospital was under lockdown for more than two hours in response to the incident.
"The hospital was contacted and they were advised to go into lockdown under the circumstances of a potential firearm being around," he said.
Acting Senior Sergeant McGibbon said police were still trying to establish what sparked the incident.
"The exact circumstances we don't know yet, we're still hoping for some other witnesses to come forward to tell us an independent version of what's occurred," he said.
Police were not able to give a description of the person on the run and could not say whether they were male or female.
The woman who was arrested had a minor foot injury but police could not say how it was sustained.
