Two men, one in his 20s and another in his 30s, have been arrested after gardai seized a firearm and ammunition in Dublin on Tuesday.
The arrests were made following an operation in Finglas at around 12.10am.
Gardaí observed a male on Glasnevin Avenue dropping a rucksack.

They then approached the scene and a search of the rucksack uncovered a sawn off shotgun and ammunition.
Two men were arrested as a result and are currently detained under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939 at Finglas Garda station.
They can be held for up to seven days.
All of the seized items will now be sent to the Garda Technical Bureau for further examination.
A garda spokesperson said: “Investigations are ongoing.”
